| چکیده | ||
| The aim of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of an online intervention based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on occupational stress, psychological flexibility, and experiential avoidance in transgender individuals. In terms of purpose, this study was applied, and in terms of method, it was quasi-experimental with a pretest–posttest design with a control group. The statistical population of the study comprised all transgender individuals in Tehran in 1405 (2026), from among whom 14 individuals were selected through snowball sampling and, following matching for age and duration of employment, were randomly assigned to two groups: intervention and control. For the pretest and posttest, participants responded to the Occupational Stress Questionnaire of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), developed by Cousins et al. (2004); the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire–Second Edition, developed by Bond et al. (2011); and the Multidimensional Experiential Avoidance Questionnaire, developed by Gámez et al. (2011). The online ACT-based intervention was delivered in eight 90-minute sessions based on the Hayes & Smith (2025) protocol. Research data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) with SPSS version 27. The results indicated that the online ACT-based intervention significantly improved occupational stress (F=218.63, p=0.001), psychological flexibility (F=83.16, p=0.001), and experiential avoidance (F=110.31, p=0.001) in the intervention group participants compared with the control group. Accordingly, it is recommended that psychologists and organizational counselors employ online ACT-based interventions as an accessible and safe method for reducing occupational stress, promoting psychological flexibility, and empowering transgender individuals in work settings | ||
