| چکیده | ||
| This study aimed to predict binge eating based on emotion regulation difficulties with the mediating role of food addiction in working women. The research employed a descriptive-correlational design. The statistical population included all working women attending weight loss centers with a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30 in Tehran during the year 2025. A total of 200 participants were selected using convenience sampling. Instruments comprised the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS), the Binge Eating Scale (Gormally et al.), and the Yale Food Addiction Scale (YFAS). Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). Results showed that emotion regulation difficulties significantly predicted binge eating through food addiction in working women (P=0.001). Emotion regulation difficulties significantly predicted binge eating in working women (P=0.001). Food addiction significantly predicted binge eating in working women (P=0.001). Emotion regulation difficulties significantly predicted food addiction in working women (P=0.001). The findings underscore the necessity of designing psychological interventions centered on improving emotion regulation skills and managing food addiction symptoms to reduce binge eating among working women. Consequently, enhancing emotional capacities and modulating eating behaviors should be regarded as a key strategy in mental health promotion and eating disorder prevention programs for this population. | ||
