| چکیده | ||
| In the Indian subcontinent, terracotta bull figurines have held deep traditional, symbolic, and cultural significance for centuries. The most common associations relate to fertility, masculinity, agrarian beliefs, and ritual practices. This study examines terracotta bull figurines recovered from Early Historic sites in Uttarakhand and the adjoining foothills, drawing on key excavations at Ranihat and Supana in Tehri district, Uttarakhand, and at Mordhwaj in Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh. It explores the socio-cultural and religious significance of these archaeological materials. The figurines are currently on display at the Museum of Himalayan Archaeology and Ethnography, Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Chauras Campus, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. By integrating archaeological and ethnographic data, we seek to understand and reconstruct the symbolic roles of these figurines within local society, together with their enduring cultural significance in the central Garhwal Himalayan context. | ||
