| چکیده | ||
| The objective of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of music therapy on self-control and self-efficacy in children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) who have working mothers. This research was conducted as a quasi-experimental study using a pretest-posttest design with an experimental and a control group. The statistical population comprised all female elementary school students attending the Asian School located in District 7 of Tehran, who were diagnosed with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. From this population, 30 individuals were selected as the study sample using convenience sampling and were randomly assigned to either the experimental or control group, with each group consisting of 15 participants. Participants responded to self-efficacy and self-control scales for both the pretest and posttest assessments. The intervention was administered to the experimental group over 8 sessions within a 4-week period, with each session lasting 45 minutes. To analyze the data, the Analysis of Covariance test was employed. The results obtained from the data analysis indicated a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in the posttest assessment of self-control (p< 0.05). Furthermore, a significant difference was observed between the experimental and control groups in the posttest assessment of self-efficacy (p< 0.05). The findings of the study demonstrated that music therapy is effective in improving self-control and self-efficacy in children with ADHD who have working mothers. Therefore, this intervention can be utilized as a complementary and practical method alongside other therapeutic and educational programs to enhance the behavioral and psychological functions of these children. | ||
