| The present study aimed to investigate and elucidate the lived experiences of assessors regarding the challenges and pathologies of assessment centers within the Ministry of Education. Situated within an interpretive paradigm, this research employed a qualitative approach utilizing descriptive phenomenology. Data were collected through in-depth, semi-structured interviews with experienced assessors and subsequently analyzed using thematic analysis. The data analysis revealed that the vulnerabilities of assessment centers in this context can be categorized into 6main themes: 1) flaws in the competency model, 2) structural challenges in exercises and tools, 3) assessor-related issues, 4) candidates’ psychological challenges, 5) executive and logistical barriers, and 6) inefficiencies in outputs. The current state of assessment centers in the Ministry of Education faces systemic and structural flaws that severely compromise the construct, content, and predictive validity of the process. To transition these centers from superficial eliminatory filters into authentic talent identification and developmental mechanisms, it is imperative to localize competency models, standardize simulation tools, continuously train assessors, and ensure organizational commitment to the results and Individual Development Plans (IDPs). | ||
