| چکیده | ||
| This article seeks to provide a systematic review of the psychological challenges associated with childbearing among employed women. It explores the conceptual transformation of motherhood within the context of modernity, the factors contributing to the declining propensity toward childbearing, and the psychological consequences arising from the intersection of occupational and familial roles. Within this framework, key constructs—including work–family conflict, role conflict, maternal guilt, pressure generated by multiple social expectations, and role strain—are examined as central analytical variables. Findings from both domestic and international research indicate that job-related concerns, economic insecurity, restricted opportunities for career advancement, and inadequate organizational support constitute some of the most significant determinants of negative attitudes or ambivalence toward childbearing among employed women. In interaction with modern lifestyles, increasing individualism, and shifting gender norms, these factors have transformed motherhood from a traditionally prescribed role into a multidimensional experience that is often accompanied by heightened stress. The review further suggests that the simultaneous engagement in occupational and maternal roles may give rise to adverse psychological outcomes, including anxiety, job burnout, diminished life satisfaction, and emotional strain. Nevertheless, the presence of supportive resources can attenuate these effects. Overall, facilitating childbearing among employed women necessitates a multi-level approach that concurrently emphasizes individual empowerment, organizational policy reform, and the strengthening of social support networks. Such an integrative framework can contribute to the promotion of women’s mental health, the enhancement of family functioning, and the effective management of demographic transitions within society. | ||
