| Stamp seals are extremely momentous as one of the archeological findings together with their olden various motifs and functions and focusing on this subject would recount different aspects of human life. During the Sassanian era, the usage of stamp seals which are made by using precious and semi-precious stones with different shapes and designs can be observed. In this descriptive, comparative, and analytical article, the data collection method has been considered from library archives and the researcher made an effort to study, analyze and compare the designs of a number of stamp seals’ motifs of the Sassanian era with constellations images from the famous Sovar Al-Kavakeb book by Abd al-Rahman Sufi. The results shows, the similarity of the stamp seal designs with the images of constellations. On account of the deep belief of the Sassanian people in astrology and the role of the constellation in their lifestyle, country development, and governance, there is a possibility that these types of stamp seals have a purpose amulet and Sassanian astrological beliefs in predicting good and bad days and the main aim could be to seek the support and protection of constellations than anything else. Furthermore, the attribution of the stamp seals’ designs to constellation can be considered in some animal motifs such as scorpions, snakes, and bears which do not have any position in the beliefs of Sasanian demonstrates that these motifs had designed for astrological determinations | ||
